Cooking Clubs (On-site)

A home-cooked meal is one of the most basic needs that we meet in our Day Center. In our cooking club, you will prepare a meal for 150 women with 8-10 of your colleagues. You will provide the ingredients or sponsorship ($485) for the meal, and DWC will provide a kitchen leader and a menu with step-by-step instructions. You will then get to serve the delicious meal you prepared!

Cooking Club availability:

  • Breakfast 6:30-8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
  • 7 days/week

Donation Sorting (On-site)

Help sort and organize the various in-kind donations DWC receives daily. Potential donation sorting activities include: pulling items to be distributed in our Day Center or sold at our resale boutique, discarding unfit donations, sorting toiletry items by type, or cleaning and rearranging the storage areas for different programs. This is a great team-building activity for 5-10 group members!

Snack Packs (On-site or Off-site)

Snack Packs are bagged lunches that consist of a sandwich, a beverage, a piece of fruit and a snack item. They’re distributed in the afternoon before women leave the Day Center to insure that everyone will have an evening meal even when we are closed for the night. Your group of 5-8 people will provide the ingredients or sponsorship ($250) for the meal, prepare the snacks, and hand them out! This opportunity is available on weekdays or weekends at DWC from 12:45-2:45 p.m.

Snack packs can also be prepared off-site. To request guidelines, please email
