For over 20 years, Bank of America has been one of the Downtown Women’s Center’s leading community partners.
In 2007, Bank of America invited us to be a part of their Neighborhood Builders Program, which included a $200,000 grant and opportunities for our leaders to participate in professional development opportunities.
Through Neighborhood Builders, we collaborated with other non-profit leaders, creating valuable strategies on how we can come closer to ending homelessness for women in Los Angeles.
In 2014, in a continuation of Bank of America’s support, DWC was the recipient of a $30,000 grant that focused on our basic needs program, which includes access to home-cooked meals, showers, and clean clothing.
In addition, Bank of America presented a very special event in the Day Center this January, during which alumni players from the Los Angeles Dodgers prepared and served a meal to DWC participants.

In addition to their support through funding, Bank of America supports DWC with their time through volunteering and donation drives. Through cooking clubs and donation sorting, Bank of America and their employees are integrating into the community and building relationships with each other and the women here.
We are also thrilled that since 2001, Bank of America SVP, Gail Lannoy has been a member of our Board of Directors and has had a direct impact in the success of our Center.
Whether it has been through grants, donation drives, professional development opportunities for DWC Staff, or volunteer support, Bank of America has made a huge impact at DWC and in the downtown Los Angeles community.
